Ebb and flow writing

On the wave of writing

Writing gets done in different time frames. During my years of writing for a media agency I wrote quickly. If the deadline gave me a day, fine, it took a day. If half an hour, the words were on the screen in half an hour. I loved the challenge.

During that same period in which I worked to deadlines, I wrote a book-length biography on my own time as a personal project. Guess how long that took? Eleven. Years, not days. It covered a story that took place in 8 countries and 3 languages. I loved the challenge.

What about you? What time frame do you write in?

From my studio

ImageHi! Thanks for dropping by and visiting my new site. I am a writer, editor and published author writing from a close-to-nature studio in a beautiful part of Canada. Outside I’ve got goldfinches and spotted towhees and inside I’ve got Agatha Christie, C.S. Lewis and Emily Carr. I must be the most fortunate person in the world! And beyond that, my wealth is not in the things I own but in the experiences I’ve had living in various countries, in the people I meet and in my terrific family.
